The Favor of God

“Let The Favor Of The Lord Our God Be Upon Us; And Confirm For Us The Work Of Our Hands; Yes, Confirm The Work Of Our Hands”
(Psalm 90:17 NASB).

All throughout the Bible we read about men and women receiving favor from God and man. Esther found favor with the King. Joseph found favor with the highest officials in Egypt. Daniel received favor with Nebuchadnezzar. Acts 2:47 tells us that the early church had, “favor with all the people, and the Lord was adding to their number day by day.”

Stewarding God’s favor brings increase. The most amazing thing is that the Bible tells us that even Jesus Himself grew in favor with both God and man. What does this mean? It means being in the center of God’s perfect will; faithfully doing what pleases Him.

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace”
(Numbers 6:24-26 NIV).

Favor is God’s extension of grace, blessing delight, pleasantness, beauty, kindness, sweetness, and brightness. We can’t conjure it up on our own, it is God’s divine work causing you to thrive in your assignment.

Favor is something we can grow in supernaturally and it’s an incredibly important aspect of God’s kingdom. When the world promotes people through appearance, money, and status, God promotes his children through favor.

Favor is something that God grants to us by grace through faith because we are created for His pleasure and for His good works (which God prepared beforehand). Favor is God’s kiss on our lives.

We can grow in favor as we begin to grasp the vastness of what the favor of God actually is. Many people live below their level of blessing and favor simply because they believe lies about who they truly are.

What we need to believe and be proactive about is that each one of us was created with a purpose, gifted with favor, and destined to impact people in our respective spheres of influence.

Favor is what will open the door of the hearts of those who don’t know Jesus to hear what we have to say. It’s also the grace God gives us to walk in the confidence that He truly loves us.

God wants you to walk in the divine favor of Heaven. If Jesus needed to grow in favor with God and man, so do we.

Pray without ceasing. Study and meditate on the Word of God daily, so that may learn how to position yourself to receive the favor of Heaven and bring lasting impact to the area of influence you are called to.

Selah.
