God’s Wisdom About Money

The Book of Proverbs gives us practical instruction on the use of money, though most of the time we simply gloss over the most valuable teaching, instruction, advice, admonishment available anywhere—and it’s free or cost—though there are requirements for attaining/obtaining it’s precious wisdom.

It’s more comfortable to continue use money our way (or the worlds way) than to learn how to use it more wisely. That’s not God’s design and is the opposite of Biblical instruction.

The Bible teaches about money more than any other subject. Why is that? Because God foreknew we’d need His help to learn how to manage it wisely.

The following are seven imperatives from Proverbs that God requires in order for us to be successful stewards of the resources he gives us.

1). Be generous in giving (11:24-25; 22:9

2). Place people’s needs ahead of profit (Proverbs 11:26)

3). Be cautious of countersigning for another (Proverbs 17:18; 22:26-27).

4). Don’t accept bribes (17:23)

5). Help the poor (19:17; 21:13)

6). Store up for the future (21:20)

7). Be careful about borrowing (22:7)

Use God’s money God’s way and you’ll always get God’s return.

Selah.
